We all know that customers have questions about extra services offered in our car washes. Some customers will ask the friendly faces at the cash register something like “why should I get this extra service?  what does it do?” This is a CRITICAL MOMENT and sometimes, our employees respond with “ummmmm” or “I don’t know.” The end result is that a basic wash is sold but not an extra service. Sadly, the car wash customer is actually missing out on a product that will enhance the appearance and protect his vehicle.

So what do we do about that? We could be like a restaurant that coaches its serving staff each day about the daily specials but that might not always be practical for the car wash.  How about a little “cheat sheet” for your employees or something that your customer can read? Having a flyer or notice is pretty low tech but cheap, easy and effective.  Printed in color, placed in an acrylic frame or photo frame – it’s an easy way to display information.
